Stop texting, stop listening to music, stop whatever it is that you are doing and take a moment to be absolutely still. Quiet. That is what you should hear. Take this moment to thank God. Reflect on what you have, and give thanks to Him!

So often we hear things like “I don’t feel like God is close to me” or “I can’t hear Him”, but when you stop to think about the things you have, you’d be surprised at how many gifts and messages He has given us through the things we have in life. And I don’t necessarily mean just in the physical sense either. He has given us the friends we have, the family we are born into, the shelter over our heads, cars to drive, opportunities to live, the list can go on and on and on. What has God done in your life? What is He doing in your life? What do you thing He has planned for your life?

While we are on the topic of His “plans”, I want to point something out. We hear that phrase ALL the time. I feel like its impact and meaning have been somewhat lessened by the callousness of how often we hear it. He has something planned for you, he has ALWAYS had plans for you. Plans you have already been a part of, plans you are involved with now, and plans that have yet to take place. If He has something planned for you, that means that He has taken the time to listen to you, to pay attention to you, to watch you, to love you, to know you in order to do these plans. Do you realize how intimate that is? You aren’t just some part of a plan, you ARE literally a part OF the plan. How amazing is that? How incredible, and loving, and amazing, is that?
